Our Week In Maui Day 6

Day 6
Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Well, today we are leaving this little paradise of an island called Maui. We wake up knowing this news and are prepared .... But wait, our flight is not until 9 p.m. So, HOLLER, we pretty much have a full day left. And, so it begins.

In our typical fashion, coffee is brewing and we are dancing around our suite in a silly effort to gain energy for the day ahead. We spend the morning with coffee on our lanai reminiscing about the previous days and nights and all of the happiness they have spoiled us with.

Next stop, the fitness center. Again, we get a great workout in and head back to our room in order to accommodate our noon check out time. Everything is packed and we take our luggage down to the front desk where we are graciously greeted with enthusiasm by our friend, Margie, at the front desk. We finalize all of the paperwork and she even surprises us by waiving our resort fees... Very cool.

She arranges for our luggage to be stored and we head to the pool. Here we spend a few hours laying out, swimming and snapping a few more photos before we know we are leaving the Ritz. Today was a little different than the rest though. As Kelsey swam and was taking in the breeze that was embracing her sun-kissed face, a pool attendant was staring into something at the bottom of the pool... He looked perplexed, unsure of what to make of the object he pondered. A few moments later, it was confirmed that there was a loose deuce... And by that I mean that someone pooped in the pool. Kelsey was out of there and back to laying out with Allison as the attendants scooped out the evidence, taped the pool with CAUTION tape and shocked it, leaving it never to be swam in by us again... Well, not on this trip anyway.

Oh, how time flies. We changed clothes and got our luggage situated in our rental car and again, we were on our way to Paia. Of course, we needed to eat at this all-too-talked-about Mama's Fish House. I also wanted to go into Charley's and try to get propositioned for some Maui Wowie fun with Woody and Willie and the boys. :-)
The rain began to pour down just before we got to Paia but nothing would deter us. From this meal. Needless to say, we were shocked. This is not your typical fish house by my definition. I would say it rivals the Pineapple Grill in terms of ambiance and presentation. We snacked on the wasabi crusted calamari and then devoured a lobster stuffed mahi mahi that was caught just that day. So awesome! Everyone who pointed us in the direction of this restaurant was absolutely correct. Wonderful recommendation!

Back to Charley's for a few more photos and then one last stop at the Green Banana... And then the gelato shop Kelsey had been eying for a few days now. And, off to the airport we go! Some shanghai and a few flights later, we will be back on the mainland, back in Austin... And we love every bit of it. We leave Maui with amazing new memories, new triumphs, new dreams, and still beautiful, amazing lives that are ready to be lived to their fullest. It has been a tremendously tranquil, relaxing, peaceful week with lots of laughter, smiles and, most of all, love.

Perfection.
